The polypropylene bags manufacturing process consists of three basic steps.

Extrusion: Virgin polypropylene granules, calcium carbonate, ultra violet stabilizer and colour pigment being melted and converted into tapes in an extrusion plant. This is the first stage and determines the tensile strength of the tapes.

Weaving: The extruded tape bobbins are loaded on to a creel (warp tapes) and threaded through the headle wires of the circular loom. Weaving looms consists of 4, 6 and 8 shuttles which are loaded with bobbins (weft tapes). Here the tapes will be woven into fabric of a required GSM and size, and will be wound in roll form.

Converting: This consists of a cut, print and sew polypropylene-bag-gauteng-3 operation, which converts circular woven rolls into individual bags. Reel-to-reel printing is done on the fabric and converted into bags with automatic cut and single hem sewing lines. The wider bulk bag fabric is printed on an individual single pass flexographic printer and converted by manual sewing machines.
